The dramatic area in our classroom is a popular place for our students to explore. It helps build student vocabulary and provides many opportunities to explore math behaviours. This week, Mrs. Colussi read the story "It's Not a Box" which got many friends thinking about what our dramatic centre can turn into next....

We transformed our Smart Board and had students take part in a vote! |

Student's made a tally mark for their choice! |
|
It was too close to call! We decided to narrow it down to Tim Hortons or Hair Salon and have another vote. |

We have a winner...our drama centre will be turning in to Tim Hortons! |
|
We started brainstorming right away! |

Our Drama Centre Process. |
Transforming our drama centre was a great way to reinforce the concept of surveys. Students have been creating their own questions and have been using check marks, tallies and more to show their findings. Here are some more pictures from the week...

We used our pumpkin seeds to write our names! Great fine motor activity. |
A friendly reminder that Year 1 observation invitations will be going home early this week. For our Year 2 students, if you would like to set up a parent/teacher interview, please return the sheet as soon as possible. Confirmations will be sent home towards the end of the week.
Have a wonderful weekend!
