One of our friends left last week left to Vietnam for a vacation and the talk in our classroom was all about airplanes.
We asked our students what they know about airplanes and airports and decided to transform our dramatic centre to our very own JLPS airport and airplane.
We challenged our students to make airplanes using various materials at our STEM table. Students also wanted to make their own paper airplanes. We extended this activity by adding measurement: how far can your airplane travel? Use snap cubes to measure!
We have been reading non-fiction books and watching various videos to learn about the check in and security process at the airport and to learn all the parts of an airplane.
When passengers get to security, they have to put their belongings through an x-ray machine. They use the process above: Stop, screen, go! |
M.S is making a laptop keyboard for our check in. |
P.S., M.S., R.B., K.W., were very excited to label the different parts on an airplane. |
One more week to go until March Break! We're hoping for warm weather and lots of sunshine! Have a wonderful week!
