Together we make a family!

This week, we celebrated all of the special fathers, grandfathers, uncles (moms too!) in our lives. Thank you for taking time out of your day and attending our special event. Unfortunately, the weather was not on our side but that definitely did not dampen our spirits. Instead, we spent time building, creating, playing with scooters, hula-hoops and playing board games.

We also let our butterflies out back into nature. It was such a special moment as some butterflies landed on our fingers and clothes. This was an amazing learning experience as students learned about the life cycle and learned about symmetry!

Next week is our last full week together before summer vacation.

On Monday, Kindergarten students will be participating in play day. Please dress your child accordingly and send them to school with a hat, sunscreen (already on), reusable water bottle. If it rains, it will be rescheduled. Look for a note in your child's mail bag.

Throughout the next two weeks, we will be sending home lots of stuff, look for your child's...
1) indoor shoes
2) change of clothes
3) Year 2 portfolios (Year 1s- we will be keeping their portfolios and adding to it next year)
4) Journals
Journals are strongly recommended for the summer. We will be providing some sentence starters which act as great starting pieces. It is strongly encouraged that students continue to read, and write throughout the summer.

Some ideas of writing activities:

  • grocery lists
  • party invitations
  • posters
  • letters
