We were so lucky to have great weather this week so we spent a lot of time outside. Our students love outdoor learning time and this week had the opportunity to use their imagination.
After reading, "Not a stick", we went outside and used loose parts that were collected by the students (leaves, pine cones, rocks, grass) and classroom loose parts (gems, pom-poms) to turn their stick into something.
We finished Terry's Marathon of Hope! Thank you for all of your contributions and support :)
Inside the classroom, we spent time playing with play dough, building at the block centre and visiting the STEAM table:
The borrow-a-book program has started for Year 2 students. In your child's bag you will find: information slip, bookmark of strategies to use when reading and a tracking sheet. We are asking that all of these sheets stay inside their Ziploc bag in addition to the book. Year 1 students will start bringing it home very soon.
October's calendar has been sent home. Please pay close attention to when the October special helper activity will begin.
Environmental print is a great way to learn! When driving or on a walk, ask your child to identify the beginning letter/sounds of a restaurant or on the weekends have them draw a picture of what they did and have them label their picture.
Upcoming Important Dates:
Thursday October 5: BBQ/Curriculum Night (please RSVP asap)
Friday October 6: Picture Day!
Have a great weekend!
