"A little sparkle, a lot of cheer"

This week, snow filled and covered the Kindergarten area for the first time this school year! It wasn't packing snow, but that didn't stop our students from having lots of fun.

We also turned ourselves into snowflakes and decorated our classroom door!

Sparkle, our Kindess Elf from last year also returned back to our class! Every morning, our students are excited to locate where she is! She's been leaving us letters and asking us to do acts of kindess to spread the holiday cheer!
So far, Sparkle has asked us to:
1) Make playdough for our Baskin Robbin dramatic centre
2) Sit beside somebody new at lunch
3) Write a letter to a friend in our class and to Ms.Angellotti

In Math, we have continued to learn about patterns. We went on a school hunt to look for patterns and have started creating our own sound/musical patterns. We also created our own holiday lights pattern.

AB pattern (green, blue, green, blue...)
Lots of patterns on the mitten!

We also have been learning about various holidays celebrated around the world. This week, we learned about Hannukah. We learned that on Hannukah, a menorah is lit (every night for 8 days), latkes (potato pancakes) are enjoyed and games are played such as the dreidel game.
Mr.Shulman brought in dreidel's for us to play with. We learned the different symbols on the dreidel and the Hebrew language.
To all those celebrating, Happy Hannukah from Room 109!
