What's been happening in Room 109!

Over the last few weeks, we have been listening closely to our student's interests and as a result have dug deeper into the world of castles and winter animals. We provided many invitations/provocations for our students to explore this week.

After tracing and painting our castle, we discussed the shapes we saw in our castles! Pyramids, rectangles, triangles and more!

At our loose parts table, students had the opportunity to build homes for our polar bears. So many great creations and problem solving happened at this table.

We also had our very first M
indfulness Moment with the whole school. All students and staff from Kindergarten to Grade 8, stopped, chose a relaxing pose and while soft music played in the background, took two moments to practice relaxing breathing. The response was amazing, a calmness spread throughout the building. We will continue to support all students to be physically and mentally healthy through various practices throughout the year.

We also learned about Chinese New Year and used watercolour paint to paint our own cherry blossom trees.
