Curious and Playful!

Our next inquiry focus has been: How do arctic animals survive in the winter?
We have been providing students with many opportunities to investigate and learn. Here is all of our learning from this week.

L.K enjoyed using watercolour paints to draw her favourite arctic animal in its habitat!

We got to explore loose parts at the light table!
We have been exploring non-standard measurement all week. We measured ourselves, plants, and objects in our room! You can use everyday objects at home such as cereal, marshmallows, cars to measure just about anything. We discussed vocabulary such as: Long, tall, short, tallest, shortest etc...

Our Smartboard transformed again this week! Students used it as a table and had the opportunity to draw pictures and write words, so much fun!

Shopkins, shopkins and more shopkins! They have taken over our classroom. Of course we wanted our students to do more than just play with them so we provided students with the materials to create their own shopkin and to write about it! It was the most popular centre this week, we can't wait to add their work to their student portfolios :)

Strawberry kiss!
